Our Promises!
When we make a Covenant, a promise, a pact, or a deal - whichever you call it, it requires our best efforts to fulfill what we agreed upon no matter what is at stake or the terms or conditions it was made. Keeping your word is a test of maturity, integrity and honor.
Job 31:1 - "I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl.” (NIV)
To keep our commitments in an age where internet filth is just a click away, X3Watch comes to the rescue. Androids X3Watch was born as a result of collaboration between Double Agent App developer Scott Magdalein and xxxchurch.com founder Craig Gross.
Why Was X3Watch Created
Working on the principle of keeping internet users safe from obscenity, the developers of X3Watch app for Android created the software as an accountability for people battling with problems related to online pornography. An accountability app, like X3Watch, monitors the subject’s internet usage on your Android smartphone/tablet and sends reports of suspicious activities to his chosen accountability partner/s.
Set up
Initially upon set-up, the user as well as his accountability partner/s will receive an introductory e-mail that notifies the user has started to use the X3Watch app, including a list of installed apps on the user’s phone. This e-mail report can be expected to be received on a weekly basis.
One of the key features of the software is its opt-in capability, such that when running the X3Watch app for Android, the user is aware and is taking responsibility for every action he makes on his phone.
Each report has the following information it:
- All questionable internet sites visited in the default Android browser.
- All Apps installed or uninstalled on the phone/tablet.
- All Browser Searches such as Google or Bing searches.
How Do You Know Its Working?
The X3 icon on the phone indicates that the app is running on the background, which serves as a reminder that he is being monitored.

How about the app’s reliability?
The developers of X3Watch have made it very difficult to evade. They use the following methods to ensure the program stays active.

1. If in case the user tries to disable the X3Watch app, any subsequent action that requires monitoring such as internet browsing will automatically trigger the app to become active again. Any other attempt to defy the app such as installing and reinstalling it will all be reported to accountability partners via email.
Essentially, we think the mere thought of having their accountability partners being notified of their actions is enough motivation for the users to keep them on the right track.
When it comes to privacy issues,

This means that emails, calls, sms (text message), pictures, or locations are spared from the app’s monitoring feature.
Ways around the monitoring system of X3Watch
We need to forewarn users and accountability partners that this app ONLY monitors the default browser on Android. Hence, it is suggested that an App Protector be used to lock down the phone in order to prevent users (most especially children) from installing another browser as well as other programs used to access the internet such as Youtube. (Youtube is default on most Androids and cannot be removed. Therefore it must be locked by App Protector, which will require the user to enter a password to use the app.)

CONS: We at EasyParentalControlTips have experienced an unusual lag on our phone after X3 has been installed as we tried the app. The majority of the lag comes from the App Protector which causes the phone to slow down. We have tested this on a Nexus one. Please let us know if it runs better on newer phones.
Summary:
As for its helpfulness, we think that this app will be an effective deterrent to pornography in a way that users can work on their problems in private. They have the choice who they should trust their accountability partnership with in this battle. The $6.99 price of the app may seem too much for some, but the hope and freedom from pornography that the X3Watch could bring – Is well worth the cost.
